Industrial:
Whatever the condition of your site, CG Jones has the expertise to manage industrial demolition, excavation, land clearing, and full site preparation. We've delivered site work for Southwire, North American Lighting, Linde, and Dura Automotive.
We also take industrial projects vertical. Jonathan Knight brings more than 25 years in commercial and industrial construction, including cast-in-place concrete, structural steel, and tilt-wall, so we can carry a project from clearing through the finished building.

The work we self-perform
Mass Excavating
From a few truckloads to sites moving hundreds of thousands of yards, we have the equipment and operators to move dirt on schedule. Land clearing, demolition, cut and fill, undercut, erosion control, and final grade. We run GPS machine control and check grade with our own survey crew, so pads come out right the first time. Recent work includes the Northwest Alabama Regional Airport regrade and site prep for Southwire, Linde, and North American Lighting.
Utilities
Complete underground utility work, from storm drains to water and sewer systems, including drainage design and construction. Our crews install wet and dry utilities, lift stations, and detention systems on residential, commercial, and public projects. Recent work includes the Florence Galvanized Pipe Replacement phase 3 & 4 , Muscle Shoals Galvanized Pipe Replacement and the Robert Hames Water Treatment Plant.
Design-Build Projects
One contract, one team, from concept through final walk-through. We partner with an Engineering firm to carry the design while our crews build the work, so you get a single point of accountability instead of a handoff between designer and contractor. Design-build shortens the schedule and puts constructability decisions in front of you early, while they still cost nothing to change.
S&L Solutions, LLC
S&L handles the work where there's no municipal sewer to tie into. Soil evaluation, on site sewage system design, health department permitting, and installation. Scot Black leads the group with more than 30 years in construction surveying and on site sewage design. For a developer, it means the septic side of a subdivision gets designed, permitted, and installed by the same company grading the lots.
Vertical Construction:
We take building projects from concept to completion, managing feasibility, estimating, budgeting, and on site construction management. Jonathan Knight leads our vertical work with more than 25 years in commercial construction, including cast-in-place concrete, structural steel, and tilt-wall. And because we self-perform the site work, one contractor handles the job from clearing and mass excavation through utilities, paving, and the finished building. No gap between the dirt contractor and the builder, and nobody to point fingers at when the pad isn't ready. We deliver through hard bid, negotiated, and design-build contracts.
