Our Purpose

Our Growth
CG Jones started in 2019 doing what we knew: site development, grading, utilities, and public works across the Shoals. Engineering-led, self-performing, and built on relationships our people had spent decades earning in this region. We've grown since then the same way we run a job, by bringing in the right person before we take on the work, not after.
Vertical construction - In 2024, Jonathan Knight joined CG Jones. Jonathan holds a B.S. in Building Construction from Auburn University and brings more than 25 years in commercial construction; heavy civil, cast-in-place concrete, structural steel, and tilt-wall. Most of that career was spent as a senior superintendent running large-scale building projects start to finish. His experience is the foundation of our vertical capability, and it's why we're able to take on building work today with people who have done it before.
Bridge and heavy highway - David Reeves came to CG Jones with over 30 years in heavy civil construction, specializing in bridge, roadway, and paving work. He spent three decades with Riley Bridge, Inc. as a Project Manager. David managed projects for ALDOT, the U.S. Department of the Interior, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers bridge replacements, airport rehabilitations, and pavement resurfacing valued up to $10 million. David leads our bridge and structures work.
Tennessee Division - 2026 brought our expansion into Tennessee, led by Zach Watkins as Vice President of our Tennessee division. We hold Tennessee General Contractor license #83485 and are building the Tennessee operation the same way we built the Shoals operation: with people who already know the ground, the owners, and the work.
Projects referenced above reflect the individual professional experience of Mr. Knight and Mr. Reeves with prior employers and are not CG Jones, LLC projects.
Our People
We believe in manageable growth. We take on work we can staff, and we staff it with people we intend to keep. That means building skills, taking on harder projects, and using better technology, but never faster than our people can grow with us.
A few times a year we shut it down and get everybody together, office and field, every crew, for food and fellowship. No agenda. It's a chance for people who work on opposite ends of the county to put a face with a name, and for us to say thank you in person. Those afternoons tell you more about this company than anything we could write here.
That's the culture Trey built and the one every person here helps keep. Our people come first, because the work doesn't get done any other way.
