CG Jones provided the complete site development for West Village, a residential community designed to meet Florence’s growing demand for modern housing. This 100% design-build project was especially unique because it was constructed on the former site of ECM Hospital, where navigating abandoned utilities and remnants of previous foundations created complex challenges. Our team handled excavation, grading, drainage, and roadway construction while installing multiple retaining walls to manage the site’s significant slopes. We imported and placed 83,074 cubic yards of offsite borrow and material, along with installing 17,000 linear feet of new underground utilities to support the neighborhood’s infrastructure. Through this careful and thoughtful design, we integrated modern systems with the community’s layout to enhance livability and long-term growth—expanding housing opportunities and supporting the continued vitality of the Shoals community.
