SOUTHWIRE
Project Details
We provided site preparation, grading, utilities, drainage, and roadway work to support Southwire’s 340,000-square-foot facility expansion, laying the groundwork for increased production capacity and long-term growth in the Shoals region.
In 2023, Southwire expanded its Florence campus with a major modernization project, and our team was proud to handle the civil construction. We prepared the site for over 340,000 square feet of new space by completing earthwork, grading, and drainage improvements to ensure a solid foundation. Our crews imported and placed more than 105,000 cubic yards of offsite borrow/fill material, installed underground utilities, built new access roads and paved areas, and developed building pads to support the facility’s advanced equipment and operations. The project also included two underground stormwater detention storage systems—a 96-inch diameter Contech "Xfiltration" system providing 40,237 cubic feet of storage volume and a 60-inch diameter Contech system with 8,885 cubic feet of storage. This work laid the groundwork for Southwire to increase production capacity, add new jobs, and strengthen its long-term presence in the Shoals region.
